I Remember Paris 09-08-2016

We met up with our River Seine cruise companions.  Roy and Pam Smith of Montgomery, Manny and Sue Montoya of Spring Branch, Texas  and John and Sandy Foxworth of Atlanta, Ga.  The ten of us will embark on a 7 day river cruise from Paris to Normandy and return.  Our ship will be the Ama Alegro.  Every one had an uneventful flight over and after recovering from jet lag went exploring Paris.  We will meet everyone again at the Crazy Horse Caberet.  Our first cabaret.  We were told it was all about art and the tourist love it.
Today, Larry, Pat, Linda and my self have an ambitious schedule.  On the agenda is the Arch de Triumph, Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and find the Crazy Horse.
Thursday morning, Linda, Pat and Larry went to a local laundromat for wash day before starting the cruise.  I stayed back to work on the blog.  It was a futile effort.  Apparently my laptop had virus issues and I was unable to complete the day's entry.  The rest of the trip was plagued with intermittent and weak WIFI.  My daily trip log was placed on a back burner until we returned home.  Just trying to catch up.
After the laundry chores were complete we hopped on the subway and went to the Arch de Triumph.  Very impressive.  You can just imagine where the German troops marched by and a few years later the American troops followed the same path.  After wards we headed to the Eiffel Tower with a stop for lunch on the way.  After lunch, I decided to have a cup of coffee so Larry and Pat went on to the tower.  Linda and I waited about 45 minutes for my coffee, until I finally gave up.  I paid the bill and we then went to the tower and found Larry and Pat.  We walked along the Seine River for several blocks and located the Crazy Horse Cabaret.  Near there we passed a monument at the tunnel where Princess Diana perished in a car crash while being pursued by photographers.
We left the Crazy Horse, took the subway to the Louvre museum.  There, while Larry and Pat wet to see the Mona Lisa, I had a very good cup of coffee.  After wards we went back to our apartment, had dinner and then joined every one else for an interesting evening at the Crazy Horse Cabaret.  Check that block.  If you are going to Paris and want to go to a cabaret, call me first.  We need to talk.
We are tourist and we did what tourist do and enjoyed our selves while doing it.  Now we are looking forward to our boat ride.
Designed in 1806, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris.  In its vaults lie the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from WW1.  It honors those who fought and died for France.
