Today started well and ended well. We had a great visit in Berlin, but it was time to move on. Train travel is a great experience in Germany. The trains are nice and on time. I had been telling Larry and Pat how punctual they were. Our schedule today was to leave Berlin at 0827 and arrive in Wurzburg at 12:31 pm. Our scheduled departure from Wurzburg was at 12:41 pm. Then on to Steinach, with another change to get us to Rothenburg at 13:49. After bragging on the punctuality of the German rail system, we arrived in Wurzburg at 12:42. Our 12:41 train had already left the station. We had to wait another hour before the next train to Steinach. All was well, though. You have to adjust as the situation changes. Linda and Pat went into the terminal and brought back some ice cream to sooth our anxieties. After the ice cream, everything was back on schedule, but one hour later. The rest of our trip was uneventful. We got to Rothenburg and checked into our hotel and started checking out the city. We found a neat biergarden and stayed there through dinner then returned to our hotel. After I finish this recap we are going back to the Market Square and take the Night Watchman's tour of Rothenburg.
More about Rothenburg later, but there is more to it than half timbered houses and a medieval wall.

| This hotel is across the street from where we are. Linda and I brought Courtney and Beth here a number of years ago and we had an apartment on the top floor. Great trip, great memories. |
